Universal Pictures

Rob and Le Gault discuss Universal Pictures! The fourth oldest studio (literally).

They started getting successful with early Lon Chaney pictures and Victor Hugo adaptations.

They have the Universal Monster movies from the 30's and 40's. Then the got into lower budget horror sequels and Abbott + Costello comedies.

It's not until 1975 where they got huge success with Jaws... and they really stuck with Spielberg after that.

In the 80's they continued backing Spielberg and added the Johns, Carpenter, Landis, and Hughes.

In the 90s they hit it big with the Fast and Furious Franchise and Jurassic Park.

In the 2000s they continue to find success with horror from the likes of M. Night Shyamalan, Jordan Peele, The Purge and Insidious franchises.
